What’s Thanksgiving Day like at your house? Steve and I are all alone this year, due to the health restrictions imposed throughout the USA. But that doesn’t mean we’re not celebrating! Steve loves football, and he’ll be camped out in front of the tv overindulging in football games (hopefully the Detroit Lions will pull off a win). Me? I’m not much of a cook. Our meal will be simple, starting with prayer, giving thanks for each other, our family and friends, remembering all those who are sick and suffering.
This past year has brought plenty of heartache for so many. My heart breaks for those who have suffered great loss. As of today, no one in our family has fallen ill. I’m grateful for the blessings of a comfortable home, enough food to eat, a warm bed to sleep in. I’m grateful for all my friends, and a few special women in my life who are particularly dear to my heart. They’re not my blood sisters, but that doesn’t mean we’re not sisters. Speaking of ‘sister friends’, Saturday Night Sisters was published this month! If you haven’t had a chance to pick up a copy, it’s available on both Amazon and Barnes & Noble. I’m grateful for readers who buy my books, and take the time to write a review. And I’m grateful for those of you who continue to write and let me know how much you’ve enjoyed my books.
2020 has been a hard year, hasn’t it? Personally, I wish I could give each and every one of you a big hug (while practicing social distancing, naturally!) Do you realize how very special you are to me? It’s your friendships and your words of encouragement which have kept me going. God bless each one of you. I’m keeping you close in my heart, and in my prayers.
Together we will get through this.
Stay safe. Stay healthy. Keep reading.
